Welcome to Octopus Intermediate Capital

Launched in 2007, Octopus Intermediate Capital is a £45 million venture capital fund established by Octopus Investments following the success of the existing Venture Capital Trusts managed by Octopus Private Equity and the Octopus AIM team, and in response to customer demand for a low risk VCT product.

We are looking to back high quality and ambitious management teams who are seeking to make a capital gain over a three to five year period. We will invest between £1m and £4m in UK, VCT qualifying, companies in the form of intermediate capital (i.e. mezzanine finance seeking a risk/return profile above that of senior debt and below that of equity) to support buy-outs, accelerate growth, or make strategic acquisitions.

Octopus Intermediate Capital will often co-invest alongside other equity providers to enable the completion of larger deals in a more efficient manner and can also provide additional finance and/or replacement capital for other funds’ successful portfolio companies.
